The art of jewelry making is still relatively new to artisan Chalisa but her designs are truly unique. She began an apprenticeship with artisan Din, who is another featured AeraVida artisan, six years ago and has learned so much. She started selling her original pieces locally at a weekend market in Bangkok and she was able to save up enough to venture out on her own. Chalisa quit her day job, as a government employee, to pursue her passion for creating jewelry. Her works feature a combination of beautiful shells, iridescent pearls and vibrantly colored stones which she pairs with fine sterling silver. We are very excited to share her creations with the world and we are sure you will love them too.
“I spent a long time working at a job that I did not enjoy, but I had to make a living to support myself. So when I discovered the art of jewelry making, I decided to take a risk. It was hard in the beginning, but I kept practicing. It was worth the effort because now I can express my creativity, which was something that I always desired. I found a love for creating jewelry and it was something that I am good at. I am grateful for the opportunity to pursue this trade and for AeraVida, because they will help me to become successful. Never forget your dreams and it is never to late to find your true life’s passion, take it from me.” -Chalisa
