About the Artist

artist

Yvonne and Sheila are two talented sisters from the island of Cebu, in the Philippines, who run a successful jewelry business. Their original designs are inspired by the ocean and are made using native materials like sea shells, pearls, native wood and stone. Both sisters found a love for fashion at an early age and were able to cultivate a flourishing business which has allowed them to earn a good living. They own and operate a store in one of the busiest malls in Cebu City. “I love working with my sister Sheila, who is not just my sister but is also my best friend. We have always been close throughout our lives and I enjoy going to work and spending time with her. My role in this partnership is to design the jewelry and to make beautiful works of art. I truly love my job.” -Yvonne “I have always loved wearing jewelry, the shimmer found in pearls or the brilliant colors found in seashells inspire me to be creative. The most rewarding part of my job is picturing a piece of jewelry in my mind and then working with the raw materials to have that vision come to life. It is very rewarding.” -Sheila
